Every once and awhile something comes along and kicks you in the ass. I have been trying to throw in my 2 cents worth. (a) It help’s Grant to fill the odd empty hole when he publishes his monthly.  (I do not know how he keeps up his busy schedule or ideas) and (b) try to add a little Swiss knowledge and humor from my limited perspective.  This one caught me snoozing.

The AutoTool, 4⅞ inches (135 mm) long, 11.6 ounces in weight, was originally advertised when it came on the market in 1999 as an instrument with fourteen implements: (1) Pliers, (2) Wire Cutters, (3) Electric Crimper, (4) Wire/Bender Stripper, (5) Serrated Blade, (6) 3mm Screwdriver, (7) 5mm Screwdriver, (8) Phillips Screwdriver, (9) Can Opener, (10) Bottle Opener, (11) plastic Flashlight with an N style battery, (12) plastic Ice Scraper, (13) plastic Digital Tire Pressure Gauge, and (14) plastic Removable Fuse Puller.

With the introduction of the Dual Density line, starting with the 2008 Soldier knife, Victorinox may have opened a can of worms they weren't expecting. SOSAK member Jatrias started this trend by sending in some photos that I used as SAKtivities throughout March. He also posted them on the forum at Multitool.org, and several other members joined in as well!

Here's what landed yesterday morning: a Wenger Evo S557, all the way from Athens and trailmaster (for SOSAK denizens), through our beloved EDCSource!

You never forget your first! Here are a few of the entries we received from the contest last month for the Victorinox 2010 media kit!

Longtime readers here will know that I have never been a fan of what I refer to as “Electronic SAKs” and yet last month I posted an article about my appreciation of a 1g SwissMemory model. Since then, I couldn't help but obtain a 1g SwissBeat mp3 player knife, but perhaps not for the reasons anyone was expecting!

At this year's SHOT Show in Las Vegas Wenger was nice enough to show me their new models, and the ones that caught my eye the most were the yellow Patagonian Expedition models. Having been fascinated with the yellow EVOGrip 18 released two years ago, and the different colored New Rangers released last year, I'd been hoping for a yellow New Ranger this year. Wenger didn't disappoint me, although they didn't do it the way I'd expected!

There have been rumors for some time now about a new tool from Victorinox. Some think it's a new plier tool like the Spirit, while others believe the rumors were in reference to the new Dual Pro model, but I know different! From a source deep within Victorinox, I obtained documented evidence that proves the new tool is based on the Spirit! For those who don't believe me, check out the new versions here: http://www.sosakonline.com/images/stories/April_10/road_spirit.pdf

Wenger fans rejoice! Wenger now has a Youtube channel all to themselves! You can see the Wenger Channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/wengerna1 Keep your eyes peeled for new videos in the future!
